Early Morning High-Speed Pursuit

By edhat staff

California Highway Patrol officers engaged in a high-speed pursuit with a suspect early Sunday morning.

At 2:45 a.m., two patrol units were in pursuit of a vehicle wanted for speeding and almost hitting an officer’s vehicle. The chase began on Highway 101 northbound at Arroyo Quemada reaching speeds of 105 mph.

Additional CHP units set up a spike strip ahead of the suspect on Highway 101 northbound near the Santa Rosa exit which caused the vehicle to slow down considerably. Officers were then able to run a traffic break behind the suspect’s vehicle.

After deploying a pit maneuver near the Highway 101 and SR-154 interchange, the suspect’s vehicle was stopped and the suspect was apprehended.
