Santa Barbara County Firefighters and rescue helicopter responded to a dehydrated mountain biker at Gaviota Peak on Sunday.
At 1:05 p.m., crews responded to the area and determined the biker was attempting to ride across the Camino to Santa Barbara, said Fire Captain Daniel Bertucelli.
It was determined the cyclist was suffering from dehydration. The victim was hoisted into Helicopter 4 and flown to Fire Station 38 where a ground ambulance transferred them to the hospital for evaluation.

It was a dehydrated biker. Back in the old days we took a rest, drank some water and carried on. Now everyone who sneezes gets a ride out on a helicopter. It wasn’t even hot yesterday.
