The Santa Barbara Police Department is requesting assistance from the public to help with locating a vehicle that fled the scene of a serious injury collision.
Around midnight, on June 27, 2021, an injury hit and run collision occurred in the area of 200 West Carrillo Street, Santa Barbara. The driver struck a pedestrian, then fled the scene of the collision, leaving the seriously injured person laying in the roadway. The pedestrian sustained significant injuries and is currently being treated at Cottage Hospital.
The suspect vehicle is described as an early to mid-2000s, Toyota pick-up truck, either a Tacoma or Tundra. The front grill Toyota emblem was knocked loose from the vehicle and was discovered in the debris field at the scene. One of the headlights was also damaged during the collision. We have attached a low-quality still-video image of the Toyota.
This collision is still under investigation at this time and Investigators would like to speak with the Toyota’s driver regarding their version of the events.
