July 18, 1963 – July 01, 2021
Jacqueline “Jackie” Tyler was born at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Lompoc, California on July 18, 1963, the daughter of Walter and Dorothy Tyler. Jackie a beautiful Woman of God, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Auntie, and Friend who exemplified the true meaning of the scripture reflection “A friend loveth at all times” Proverbs 17:17 went home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2021. Jackie attended local area schools and graduated from Cabrillo High School. Jackie later received certification in Business Technologies from Clark Business College and an A.S. degree in Paralegal Studies from Esquire School of Law and was recently studying for her Real Estate license. Jackie was employed in many industries as a Freelance Litigation Paralegal, Bookkeeper, Leasing Consultant, and Case Manager for disabled adults just to name a few. Jackie also had a passion for children and volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Santa Barbara County advocating for abused and/or neglected children in the court system.
For the last three years Jackie dedicated herself to being the primary caretaker of her mom. She took this role to heart, lovingly doting over her mom to ensure her every need was met. Jackie was proud of her Creole heritage and while caretaking for her mom she sharpened her skills in cooking shrimp etouffee, okra, red beans, and rice, frying fish/shrimp. She was most proud when her mom praised a dish. She loved attending the annual Long Beach Crawfish and Cajun Festivals enjoying dancing to her mom’s native Louisiana Zydeco music with family and friends.
Jackie’s love for God, Family, Community outreach, her home church Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church/Women’s Department, physical fitness, traveling, and dogs were just a few of the things she cherished.
Touching many lives with her beautiful smile, strong willed determination along with those gentle yet blunt responses, Jackie had a unique way of doing her missionary work that God would have her to do. In so many ways not even realizing that her Gentle yet Strong Spirit had made a difference in the lives of others. Her love for God and the unique way he guided her daily to be a light to all will be impacted on our lives forever and remembered in our hearts.
Last year, God brought an incredibly special person James “Jaimy” Johnson into Jackie’s life. Jaimy brought her such joy and happiness. She often mentioned the strong spiritual aspect of their relationship-praying together and for each other. She lovingly referred to him as husband and babe and he addressed her as his wifey!
Jackie was immensely proud of her family and as a devoted mom, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece, auntie, and life partner. She cherished the times spent together with all.
She is preceded in death by her father Walter Tyler Sr. and brother Joseph L. Tyler.
Jackie will be forever remembered by her son Aaron Lavelle Moore and grandson Shamar Lavelle Moore of Las Vegas, NV; her beloved mom Dorothy B.
