Assemblymember Steve Bennett (D-Ventura) is honored to celebrate Community Partners in Caring as Nonprofit of the Year for Assembly District 37.
In response to the COVID pandemic, Community Partners in Caring created programming, based off of their established services, to assist seniors during that great time of need. This included food and other essentials delivery, assistance getting to doctors appointments, friendly phone calls, and health check calls. Their work created some sense of community and normalcy for seniors who would have otherwise been isolated in their homes without assistance to get to essential places.
“Community Partners in Caring has provided valuable services to seniors during the COVID-19 pandemic. The services they provided acted as an extended family for so many,” said Assembylmember Bennett, “And this is not the only time they have stepped up for seniors. Community Partners in Caring have been a resource for seniors in Santa Barbara County for 25 years. Many seniors would be in much worse shape without their help and I want to thank them for the work they do for our community.”
The organization has been a resource for seniors in Santa Barbara County since 1997 through volunteer support services. These services allow the community’s senior population to live independently while maintaining dignity, respect and quality of life, through social activities, workshops, free direct assistance, and referral services. These services include Door-through-Door transportation, Friendly Visits/Reassurance Calls, Shopping/Errands, Yard Work, Light House Cleaning, Minor Home Repairs, Technology Training, and referrals to community resources.
