Low flying plane with repeating flight pattern and green light beam? This plane has been flying the same exact flight pattern since about noon today (could have been earlier), and about every ten minutes, would turn around right before Summerland, then fly back over Carpinteria towards Ventura/Oxnard. A few things making me want to know what was going on: Why would it be flying at around 600 feet elevation? Why would it take this same exact route for half a day? Perhaps most strange, why was there a massive green laser beam coming out of the belly of the plane? Would love to know if someone has insight!

Does anyone know what those jets were that just flew up the coast and back toward Oxnard? Was it an air show out of Mugu?
Its a Chinese spy plane!
Not sure if this had anything do with it, but the Pacific Airshow was this weekend down in Huntington Beach. They actually cancelled the final day, today, because of the oil spill down there. I wonder if some of the pilots were out flying around the coast? Purely speculation, of course. More likely some sort of Mugu exercise.
Looks like a King Air 350, or some variant of that.
Planes aloft, full tanks of gas, lookin’ for another air show to join. Remotely similar to cruising State Street on a Saturday night in the 1950’s…..
