Local families have started online fundraisers to pay for the funeral costs of victims from recent fatal traffic collisions.
Gilberto Arteaga Gutierrez and Silvia Manzo Velasco were killed after an alleged DUI driver collided with their vehicle on Cathedral Oaks in Goleta on October 26.
Gutierrez’s family created a GoFundMe page for any expenses.
“Gilberto will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Our heart is broken. Gilberto was a loving, caring and hard working man. This will be greatly appreciated from the family,” the donation page stated.
On October 20th, 29-year-old Oscar Moreno and his wife 34-year-old Jessica Honor died when their vehicle crashed on the Garden Street offramp.
Moreno’s family started a GoFundMe page to fund the memorial and burial expenses.
“Oscar was a helper, always found small ways to help people he knew and strangers, and when you needed it the most he tried his best to be their for you,” the donation page stated.
