Fill Out the Survey in English or Spanish and Let Us Know
The City of Goleta wants to hear your insight regarding housing issues in our community. As part of the Housing Element update, the City is asking the public to provide input on housing patterns, concerns and needs. Your feedback is appreciated. Please take a few minutes to take a brief survey in English at www.surveymonkey.com/r/GoletaHousing or in Spanish at www.surveymonkey.com/r/ViviendasenGoleta.
The survey is an important part of the City’s effort to update our Housing Element for the 6th housing cycle (2023-2031) as part of state law. The Housing Element update will include an analysis of housing needs, resources, and constraints, and articulates the City’s official policies and objectives for the development, preservation, and improvement of housing for all economic segments of the community.
More information on the Housing Element update project can be found here. Thank you in advance for your valuable input.

UCSB negotiated a settlement with Goleta a decade or so ago where the City of Goleta accepted $8 million dollars in return for not obstructing UCSB’s 5,000+ student increase. So Goleta is no victim here.
FERNALD – Yeah, but the City of Goleta is not the same as the residents of Goleta. I wouldn’t really fault the “Goleta renters” and “local activists” for the City’s deal with UCSB.
everyone here has decent points. I want to bring one up that no one has mentioned.
landlords set the rent prices………… you can cry about UCSB, you can Cry about expansion. but our own locals, our own “neighbors” and best friends are the ones charging these rents. there is NO denying that the same people that would cry about not affording rents here. if they owned a home here would charge the same rate as everyone else.
point point point……. its all the big cities problem they do it all……. welll…. the city doesnt post on zillow, doesnt post on CL rentals, or Facebook market place with the excuse “this is market price”
