Earth Day Recap Celebration at the Arlington Theater

Update by the Community Environmental Council

Earth Day, Every Day

Earth Day is always a special celebration, but after two years of virtual gatherings, the joy of being together in person was palpable. Every day, the team at Community Environmental Council pushes for a whole community approach to climate action, and this celebration gives space for opportunities to share ideas, enthusiasm, and ways to make a difference.

We enjoyed seeing each of you at Earth Day and hope you will join us in taking climate action in your homes and communities. Stay connected via email and CEC’s social media profiles to see all of the ways you can make a difference in your community. After all, Earth Day is every day.

2022 Earth Day Mural!

This year’s mural winner was Maria Arroyo. Her vision became a reality thanks to Slingshot, a not-for-profit progressive arts studio that supports artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Santa Barbara.

We want to thank the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara and Paseo Nuevo for their partnership this year. Make sure to visit the top level of the Paseo Nuevo parking structure to see the mural in person!

See Slingshot’s Instagram for some behind-the-scenes footage of the process!
