Forward Progess Stopped in Santa Ynez Grass Fire

Update by the Santa Barbara County Fire Department

Santa Barbara County firefighters are responding to a brush fire in the are 4000 block of White Oak Road, near Paseo Poco, in the Santa Ynez Valley.

The fire sparked around 3:50 p.m. Tuesday in approximately 4 acres of burning grass contained by roads on two sides. County fire crews are on the scene now with more units arriving.

The wind-driven fire, now called the White Fire, is currently not threatening structures in the area. 

As of 4:40 p.m., the forward progress of the fire has been stopped and resources were canceled. The cause is under investigation.
