A Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base Monday afternoon with plans to send additional satellites into orbit.
This will be SpaceX’s ninth launch, this time delivering 52 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit to support global internet users.
The launch is planned for 4:56 p.m. Monday, with a backup opportunity on Tuesday at 4:35 p.m., from Space Launch Complex 4E.
The first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched NROL-87, NROL-85, SARah-1, and one Starlink mission. Following stage separation, the first stage will land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship, which will be stationed in the Pacific Ocean.
A live webcast of this mission will begin about five minutes prior to liftoff.
Two in one day !!! Who else can do that ? Nobody ever has and nobody will do any time soon !
An incredible enterprise and fabulous teams of top engineers, scientists and technicians !
Kudos to all of them ;
And meanwhile they’ve given hundreds of Starlink receptors to Ukraine to keep the country (and its army) “cyber alive”.
And now they’re donating to Florida to restore internet connection where it’s been shutdown by the hurricane !
Heard anybody say “thank you” ? No
That’s 15,000 Starlink terminals that he has donated to Ukraine .
And tomorrow a THIRD Space X goes up from Canaveral and the 4 astronauts get to the ISS.
And Biden has never heard about Musk, Tesla or Space X !!!
1) Musk behaves like a mental case, and is his own worst enemy.
2) Musk is not a brilliant engineer. Often his employees have to go quietly behind his back to rescue him from imprudent decisions.
3) Polluting low Earth orbit so people can stream Netfix from Antarctica is not that great of an endeavor.
Fondo, even though he’s a life long Democrat, Musk made the mistake of daring to criticize the left thus all the downvotes to your comment and dismissal of the truly amazing things he’s accomplished both in space and on the ground. We might even see a Falcon Heavy launch by the end of the month. Amazing stuff.
Oh gross…. we got the usual suspects in here “praising” Elon for solely political reasons. Why can’t any of you ever at any time make a comment that isn’t fueled by politics? Rockets are awesome. Not fan of people like Musk, but so what? This is amazing technology and it’s really interesting to see. Go science!
One who posts his ideology in each post is Sac.
And how would the Ukrainian army have been able to do what they did WITHOUT internet service ?
Marcel – I wasn’t talking about you 😉
Ah, well then! I admit to being confused, but I can live with that. 🙂
I agree about Ukraine, but the last sentences of your posts above just leave me shaking my head.
