A man in his early 20s sustained serious injuries after falling off a cliff in Isla Vista Friday evening.
At 10:51 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the 6700 block of Del Playa Drive for a report of a cliff fall.
Crews discovered a male in his early 20s had fallen approximately 50 feet onto the beach below.
The man was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with serious injuries.
No further information was available.
Going into the root of the problem could turn into a long discussion. This is a terrible pain for the young man and his family. I will have them in my prayers and hope to God they can look forward to a full recovery.
That said, raising our kids right is more difficult than ever, with both parents working and the school system falling apart.

There are things that could be done. The county could put a Transient Occupancy Tax on student rentals and direct the proceeds to emergency services and law enforcement.
