One person has died in a single vehicle rollover on Highway 101 at Highway 154 near Buellton Tuesday morning.
At 6:19 a.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to the scene just south of the Highway 154 offramp. Crews discovered a 2008 Toyota Sienna had crashed off the roadway, rolled over, and landed in a creek where an older male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) report states the decedent is a 76-year-old man from Concord.
At this time, CHP is unclear whe the collision took place as a passing motorist noticed the vehicle off the side of the road and called 9-1-1.
Captain Scott Safechuck stated there were rainy conditions at the time of the collision and the highway remains open.
“Tip of the day: PLEASE DRIVE SAFE & CHECK YOUR TIRE TREAD,” said Safechuck.
