The garage of a residential home in Santa Barbara’s Mesa neighborhood erupted in flames on Thursday evening.
Around 10:00 p.m., Santa Barbara City firefighters responded to the 200 block of Selrose Lane and discovered active flames coming from the home’s garage area.
Crews began an aggressive attack while checking the residence for any occupants.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and were able to keep the fire contained to the garage, although there was some smoke damage to the rest of the home. A camper trailer parked in the driveway was also damaged.
Four people were home at the time of the fire but were able to safely evacuate. There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
