Trail rescues are a hot trend these days, especially in Cito. Go out clueless and expect a bailout, free of charge. And go hit Jeanine’s for a latte afterwards. Bonus points for posting your harrowing rescue on your social media account for lots of upvotes/likes.
Even bigger trend, that you’re a ringleader for, is media bias! Just because you read about it in the news more doesn’t mean it’s happening more often.
BASIC, Pray that you or your loved ones don’t fall ill, twist an ankle, or worse, have a heart attack while out hiking someday and then have to come home and read some nasty diatribe like the one you just posted. I was a Forest Tech in the field and in Dispatch for many years and every year we had numerous SAR calls to save mostly children and the elderly from misfortunes incurred while hiking. As a wise man once said, “There, but for the grace of God go I”.
MINI – take my downvote.
Whiners gonna whine.
Personal responsibility. You can do better Films…
It’s a bit sad that you nearly every story you comment on you’re complaining.
I’m neither complaining nor whining, as you asserted. I’m simply pointing out what I think is a trend in lack of personal responsibility. It’s my opinion.
I have noticed that trend as well. Most likely the result of those in their 30’s and younger who grew up in a time where everyone got a participation trophy.
915 – it’s the same ilk that, upon hearing about a retail theft, cries and moans about how CA is allowing criminals to run free. Just more Con-Drama Queens.
Thumbs up for BASICINFO805 for telling it like it is.
What is the thought process when people decide to go on a hike during the worst weather in years. These people win the trophy for dumbest start of the year
would you rather everyone be like you and hide indoors and troll people online for actually getting out there and living life? ok boomer…
GETOFFMYLAWN – not all of us have made a life commitment to sitting indoors and complaining. You’d be surprised how many happy people there are outside!
i knew i would see rude and obnoxious posts from the usual suspects here chiding people for needing help and living life. to each of you and you know who you are, we will have a chat someday when my dogs and i are saving you or a family member of yours. i had a guy once that i knew online. Major troll just like a lot of you. He would bash the SAR, bash people that SAR saved…just like you do. Then one day we got a call in Cito, swift water rescue. Dogs stayed in the truck. I got to him first and while saving his dumb@zz, i informed him who i was. The look on his face is still in my mind today. So at some point we may meet and I’ll have to do my job. Then again, most of you complainers are just arm chair warriors too afraid to leave their houses….
Nobody is bashing SAR or any other law enforcement here dude. You’re way off by saying that. You’d also be surprised to know how many of us aren’t what you think we are – armchair warriors? Not. I’m out all the time – the more remote the better, but I don’t expect to be rescued when I’m walking a trail or surfing, like I did today. Don’t assume.
Darwinism.
