The Carpinteria Valley Chamber has achieved Green Business of Santa Barbara certification. The Carpinteria Valley Chamber is now one of five businesses in Carpinteria that have achieved this highly acclaimed certification.
We encourage you to share this exciting news as we are extremely proud of our accomplishment.
The Carpinteria Valley Chamber is proud to announce that the Chamber Office is now Green Business Certified, going above and beyond the required measurements to serve as a model of sustainability.
“We have successfully tackled waste reduction and recycling, energy efficiency and conservation, water conservation, air pollution prevention, and intentionally purchasing environmentally friendly office supplies” says Joyce Donaldson, President/CEO of the Carpinteria Valley Chamber. “These important actions will help protect, preserve, and improve the environment”.
Donaldson applauds Rachel Wylie, the Chamber’s Business Resource Coordinator, for taking the lead role during the Green Business Certification process. Wylie worked closely with Chamber Property Manager David Godfrey during the extensive process of achieving certification. Over the last several years, Godfrey has made countless improvements towards sustainability and he readily implemented the remaining changes to ensure that our energy efficiency and water conservation protocols met the high standards for certification.
By implementing Green Business practices, dollars are saved by reducing energy and water costs, while creating a healthier, comfortable, and more desirable workplace by using less toxic products.
The Green Business Program of Santa Barbara County provides resources and assistance to businesses wanting to be green, certifies businesses through workshops and trainings, on-site visits & evaluation, and provides benchmarks to improve environmental sustainability.
