AnonymousWith a mission to enhance our community’s awareness and appreciation of the built environment since 1983, the Architectural Foundation of Santa Barbara continues to adapt to the needs of today’s community with its new website. The fresh user-friendly and mobile-centric design showcases expanded resources for community members and architecture enthusiasts.
“We welcome the Santa Barbara community to spend time exploring our new website and learning about the varied ways architecture can be appreciated,” said Rocio Iribe, Executive Director of AFSB. “While inspiring appreciation of the built environment, our website now shows the defining opportunities and impact that AFSB creates with the support of our community.”
The new Architectural Foundation of Santa Barbara Website, at www.afsb.org, now features:
•The Blog Corner featuring three unique perspectives on local and global design: The Grad Lounge, Architecturally Macabre, and From the ED’s Desk, with the opportunity to grow and become a collaborative space for visiting academics or engaged community members.
•The inaugural Online Gallery expands our gallery walls to give more local Santa Barbara artists a place to exhibit their work. Currently on view is Homage, a show by photographer Sara Yerkes.
•Architectural Walking Tours itineraries: The AFSB Sabado (Saturday) and Domingo (Sunday) walking tours have been running continuously every weekend for 20 years, serving local residents and their guests, and visitors from around the globe.
•Updated Education and Give sections make it easy to choose ways to get involved that are most personally meaningful as an individual or align with the focus of foundation or corporate support.
The new website guides the community to easily find their own path to learn, experience, and create impact through AFSB; by engaging with any of five youth education programs, learning about architecture through lectures and walking tours, and experiencing art through the onsite and online gallery.
All of these programs are made possible through AFSB’s membership opportunities, which are open to the entire community.

We are located in the historic Acheson House at the corner of Garden and East Victoria Streets in Santa Barbara. Regular gallery hours are Saturdays from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and by appointment.
