SB Museum of Natural History Announces 2020 Board of Trustees

The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History is proud to announce Terrence Valeski as the new Chair of its Board of Trustees. Mr. Valeski has served on the Museum’s board for six years and previously served as Vice Chair for Finance. He accepted the chair position at the Museum’s annual meeting on January 28, 2020.

Mr. Valeski shared, “I am especially pleased to accept a leadership role on the board of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. The Museum and Sea Center have evolved magnificently over the years and are truly an exceptional experience for all individuals of all ages and families of Santa Barbara. Both the Mission Campus and the Sea Center provide an exciting experience, an opportunity to learn and to become engaged in using, preserving and protecting our environment.”

Terrence Valeski joined the board of trustees for the Museum in November 2014 shortly after moving to Santa Barbara with his wife Pam. He also serves on the board of the Music Academy of the West. Terry is a graduate of the University of Arizona, where he was later awarded an Honorary Doctorate. He enjoyed a long and distinguished career in advertising and later served at the helm of major telecommunications companies in Europe. He has served on numerous boards, both public and private, and he also advises a number of Private Equity firms. Terry and Pam are active in a number of local non-profits.

The Museum is also pleased to announce Chris Knowlton as Immediate Past Chair, Chris Blau as Vice Chair for Development, Carolyn Chandler as Vice Chair for Governance, Salvatore “Tory” Milazzo as Vice Chair for Finance, Elaine Gibson as Secretary, and Brad Willis as Member-at-Large.
