Ice In Paradise, Santa Barbara County’s premier ice rink and home to club and college hockey leagues and figure skating, is accepting registration for IIP’s Learn to Skate Program, offering several opportunities to introduce hockey as a fun and exciting club sport to the public while making it accessible to everyone in the community. The Learn to Skate program follows the lesson format created by the Ice Skating Institute of America (ISI), the nation’s largest recreational ice skating organization.
Ice in Paradise offers figure skating and hockey classes for beginner to advanced levels, for tot skaters (ages three to five), youth skaters (ages six to 13) and teen and adult skaters of all ages. Year-round sessions cost $175, and include one hour of ice time per week for 8 weeks (30 minutes of instruction plus 30 minutes of practice on ice) and skate rental.
With its policy to make hockey accessible to all, Ice in Paradise provides hockey gear at limited cost or no cost (if available) to families in need. In addition to Learn to Skate program, Ice in Paradise offers programs for families of all ages:

Youth Norqs Ice Hockey: Players will develop skills through a variety of fun activities and small area games. This is true beginner hockey, designed to get our youngest hockey fans out on the ice. First step for hockey players ages 4 to 10. $80 for 8 weeks.

Goleta Youth Hockey League: Goleta Youth Hockey League (GYHL) is fun,recreational,developmental hockey. Sessions will offer concentrated teaching of fundamental skills, stopping, power turns, stickhandling and more! Twice a week $320 for 8 weeks

Free Student Skate Night: A free and popular pastime for high school and college kids to socialize in a fun environment on the ice or over tasty grub at Rinkside Cafe.
Ice in Paradise’s Learn to Skate Program is a great first step toward figure skating or hockey. Kids can make friends and have fun in a group class environment while learning basic skills to advanced skills from our seasoned coaching staff.
Classes are available for all ages and abilities, from tots to adults and are held once a week on Tuesday or Saturday. Class times are available at www.iceinparadise.org.
Sessions are 8 weeks long and you can register for classes at anytime during the session.
