Santa Barbara Humane is pleased to announce the success of its inaugural Santa Maria Wild West Fest.
The western-themed event, which was held on April 20 at the Elk’s Lodge in Santa Maria, brought together more than 180 community members to celebrate North County’s deep dedication to animals and the people who love them.
As guests mingled and danced to tunes from the Just Dave Band, they were treated to a visit from a litter of adoptable puppies from Santa Barbara Humane’s Santa Maria campus.
After a delicious barbeque dinner provided by the Elks, Santa Barbara Humane CEO Kerri Burns took to the lectern to deliver a poignant keynote address. Her impactful words struck a chord with the audience as she shared compelling anecdotes illustrating the significant impact of Santa Barbara Humane’s veterinary services, dog training, and adoption programs.
The night was capped by a thrilling live auction conducted by Santa Maria’s own Jim Glines. The auction featured a range of exclusive items and experiences, including the chance for bidders to have their pet featured in Santa Barbara Humane’s 2nd annual calendar.
In total, Wild West Fest brought in more than $75,000, which will enable the organization to continue its critical work in providing the Santa Maria area with animal adoptions, veterinary care, and behavioral treatment for animals in need.
