Uninjured Man Rescued from 50-Foot Fall Near Painted Cave

Emergency responders were on the scene of a reported fall near the Painted Cave area on Saturday evening.

At 9:45 p.m. crews from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and Search & Rescue arrived to the small residential neighborhood off Highway 154.

They discovered a 38-year-old male had fallen about 50-feet down a steep hillside.

The patient was raised topside by crews with a rope system. He was uninjured but transported by ground ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for a psychological evaluation.
