Another Stone Pine on Anapamu. It looks like the City is preparing to take this Italian Stone Pine down. It is located right next to the large pine that toppled the other night during the last storm.

The City of Santa Barbara is in the process of removing a tree in the 500 block of Anapamu Street today [Thursday].

It might have something to do with the two trees that fell in this area during recent storms. See the reports here and here. (Below photo is from the 400 block of Anapamu Street last month)

    • So true. As someone that stopped a tree from being cut down by the city in my college days.. I have to say there are certain trees that really need to go or be seriously maintained around town. The branch that landed on a car in Goleta from a eucalyptus this winter comes to mind as well (no one hurt! Whew). Keep a grove of them for the butterflies (and maintain them), but invasive eucalyptus need to be removed in urban areas. Sad to see trees go but we can plant new ones that work for our environment as well.
