Fifth Annual J. William McLafferty Memorial Golf Tournament to Benefit St. Rafael School

Knights of Columbus Council 5300 will sponsor the fifth annual J. William McLafferty Memorial Golf Tournament, benefitting St. Raphael School, on Friday, April 19, at the Santa Barbara Golf Club, 3500 Mc Caw Avenue. Check in begins at 11 a.m. with a four-person shot-gun start scheduled for 1 p.m.

Goodwin & Thyne is the title sponsor for the event with Santa Barbara Honda providing a 2024 Honda CR-V for the first player to score a hole-in-one on the eighth hole.  Toyota of Santa Barbara will sponsor a putting contest prior to the start of play, offering $5000 for sinking a 50-foot putt.  The Point Markets are sponsoring golf balls for registered players.

Registration fee for the tournament, which also will feature activities such as a longest drive and closest to the pin contests, silent auction and a tri-tip and chicken dinner at the end of the tournament, is $200 per player.

All proceeds from the tournament support St. Raphael School’s commitment to high-quality academics, fine arts, and extra-curricular programs. Additionally, these funds contribute significantly to maintaining low tuition, providing valuable opportunities for children to attend St. Raphael School.

“We are excited to extend an invitation to the community to support this now traditional event in memory of the late Judge J. William McLafferty of the Santa Barbara County Superior Court,” said Richard Scholl, Grand Knight of Council 5300. Judge McLafferty was a devoted Catholic, Knight of Columbus, and steward of education.
