One woman and three men were rescued in Isla Vista on Saturday night.
At 11:17 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the 6700 block of Del Playa Drive for a female stuck on a ledge.
When crews arrived they found the victim approximately 10-15 feet over the cliff on a ledge. A rope system was used to access and rescue the woman.
According to the Fire Department, three males previously attempted to rescue the female from the beach below, but they became trapped due to rising ocean high tide.
All victims were uninjured.
The young men who tried to rescue her should be commended, not ridiculed.
wtf are these in kids doing these days? Trying to wipe out?
Super close call. Great job firemen who did the rescue . Glad three men that tried to help are all fine. Would be a good idea to check all fences that are on the bluffs and make sure they meet the height and safety
needed. Thank you rescue team!
Did the trapped woman get there from below? Or did she climb down from above?
There was a party; for whatever reason the woman ended up over the edge of the bluff. See KEYT.
PS: SacJon, The administrator deletes a lot of your comments. You should try to figure out why.
ANON – the reason why is because I respond to comments, like most of BASIC’s, that are in violation of EDHAT guidelines. Per their policy, when you respond to a violating comment, you get deleted as well. You can see that phenomenon first hand as your comment will be deleted, followed by mine.
Nice try though.
Bravo for the rescue team and Good Samaritans!
