SBA will began a phased reopening today at 5:30 AM. All commercial airlines have been notified and will be working to restore service to and from SBA as soon as possible. Please check with your airline directly regarding your flight status. The terminal and parking lots are all open.

The airfield and surrounding areas experienced a significant amount of flooding, but we’re happy to report there was no major damage. Thank you for your patience as our crews worked through the night to clean up the area as fast as possible, and thank you for flying with SBA!
Santa Barbara Airport Closed Due to Flooding

The Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) announced it has closed on Monday, February 19, due to runway and airfield flooding.
Commercial flights have been canceled, general aviation operations are paused, and the Terminal is closed. For info about specific flights, please contact your airline directly.
A date of reopening has yet to be announced.

The Marine Corps decided to build their air base on a swap in 1942, and we’ve been dealing with that decision ever since. 😉
I moved here in 2016 and it’s only flooded four times since then, so it’s probably not worth spending a ton of tax dollars on.
