A large tree fell on a moving vehicle at a Goleta intersection on Friday.

At 12:30 p.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to the area of Calle Real and Encina Lane off Fairview Avenue for a rescue operation.

The driver of a sedan required extrication after a large eucalyptus tree fell, crushing the vehicle.

Firefighters were able to safely remove the driver, who did not sustain any injuries, although the vehicle had extensive damage.

The intersection was closed for a period of time but is now open.
