A seventy-foot tall tree fell onto a Goleta condominium complex early Sunday.
At 4:19 a.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to the 7600 block of Hollister Ave and discovered the tree had fallen on the roof of a second story residence.
The County Building Department inspected the scene and red-tagged both the second story unit and the downstairs unit.
Four people and one dog have been displaced. There were no injuries.
Firefighters remained on the scene to assist with salvage and recovery of personal items for the displaced residents.
Yikes! What kind of tree, I wonder? These high wind events always get a little nerve wracking with all the trees creaking around our fences.
I used to live there. It is call The Grove. The name comes from all the Eucalyptus trees on the property. I would guess it was one of the many Eucalyptus trees. In storms I was always expecting one to fall over.
