A driver sustained major injuries following a head-on collision in Goleta on Saturday morning.
At 10:44 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the 6600 block of Cathedral Oaks Blvd. for a reported traffic collision.
When crews arrived they discovered a Jeep Cherokee and Dodge pickup truck had crashed head-on. It took firefighters 15 minutes to extract the solo occupant of the Jeep, an adult male, who sustained major injuries. He was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by ground ambulance.
The solo occupant of the Dodge pickup, an adult male, sustained minor injuries but refused treatment and transport to the hospital.
The road was temporarily closed between Los Carneros and Glenn Annie.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.

That truck is not a “Dodge”, it’s a Chevy 2500 HD 3/4 ton pickup.
