Title: Jill Freedman: A Collection of Works
(Ventura, CA) – The WANTS/NEEDS Art Gallery, a vibrant hub for unique emerging talent in the contemporary art scene, is thrilled to announce its latest exhibition opening on January 20, 2024. This exhibition will feature a curated collection of iconic works by the renowned photographer Jill Freedman.
Jill Freedman’s striking and impactful photographs have left a permanent mark on the art world, earning her position amongst the most impactful and influential photographers of her generation. Jill Freedman’s work, characterized by its raw authenticity and her documentary-style approach, has covered a wide range of subjects focusing on the realness of human-kind. This collection of works at WANTS/NEEDS Art Gallery promises to be a celebration of Freedman’s legacy and her innate ability to capture the essence of humanity.

Ben Pecorari, the Owner and Co-Curator of the exhibition, expressed his sentiment on showing Freedman’s work and the direction of WANTS/NEEDS Art Gallery, “We are so honored to have the opportunity to share a striking selection of Jill Freedman’s photographs with the Ventura Community. We are beyond grateful to be in our second year of operation and to bring a diverse range of artists and artwork to the Central California Coast.” Jill Freedman is the first exhibition of 2024 at WANTS/NEEDS Art Gallery, which plans to host 10 art shows with diverse artists and disciplines over the year.
The opening reception of Jill Freedman: A Collection of Works will be hosted on January 20 from 5 – 8 pm. All art enthusiasts, collectors, and admirers of Freedman’s work are welcome to attend for the opportunity to get up close and personal with these rare photographs. All original photographs are for sale along with prints in various sizes.

About Jill Freedman
Jill Freedman was a highly respected New York City documentary photographer whose award-winning work is included in the permanent collections of The Museum of Modern Art, the International Center of Photography, George Eastman House, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the New York Public Library, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris, among others. She appeared in solo and group exhibitions throughout the world, and contributed to many prominent publications.
