Emergency personnel responded to a report of a vehicle over the side of Highway 154 on Monday afternoon.
Around 3:30 p.m, crews from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol (CHP), and Search & Rescue responded to the area near Painted Cave Road.
Crews used a drone to locate a vehicle approximately 100 feet over the roadway.
According to the County Fire Department, the solo driver of the vehicle crashed days prior and was able to self-extricate and climb to the roadway. The unidentified male never call 9-1-1 for the accident or his injuries.
The incident is under investigation by the CHP.

How did they find out about this if the driver never called it in?
Someone noticed the car and called the police
I suppose they used the license plate info to locate the owner.
