A vehicle fire slowed traffic on Highway 101 southbound in Goleta on Monday afternoon.
At 3:42 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the shoulder of the highway near Fairview Ave for a sedan engulfed in flames.

The solo occupant of the sedan was found safe standing on the shoulder of the highway and was uninjured.
The southbound direction of the highway was restricted to one lane as firefighters extinguished the fire.
Traffic was backed up in the area for a period of time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
