Is it true that Caltrans removed our local iconic and historic Monterey Cypress Tree?
It’s on Highway 101 in Montecito near a sycamore tree.
If it was removed, who made this decision and why wasn’t the public alerted?

I haven’t made that drive in a while but that would be awful if they removed the tree.
It appears to be true. There are a lot of impassioned, somewhat unhinged, responses on NextDoor about it.

… yeah it’s in the MJ FRONT page!
This was a beautiful tree we will all miss seeing. But I am more concerned about the truth of this . NIH Opening Wuhan-Like Bat Facility In America To Study ‘World’s Most Transmissible Pathogens’: Report
Why would false reports of someone’s fantasy misinformation concern you? Try to live in the real world.
Not so fantasy misinformation: https://source.colostate.edu/csu-awarded-6-7-million-nih-award-for-research-facility-focused-on-bat-health-disease-transmission/
Researchers are also wanting to learn more about bats and their abilities to not only host and transfer viruses but to also be able to withstand them.

MEBK – are you saying bats had something to do with the tree removal? Oh wait…… there goes Voice taking your bait and running the thread off the rails again to complain about viruses and then eventually, covid. Sneaky, sneaky!
For a minute, I thought this was legit and there was an interesting story about bats in that tree!
HORRIBLE. That tree could have been saved. UGHHHHHH.
