A traffic collision has caused a massive traffic jam on Highway 101 north near Padaro Lane in Carpinteria.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports a collision involving a box truck took place around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.
A box truck traveling in the slow lane crashed and was apparently hit by its own trailer, according to CHP traffic reports.
Caltrans confirmed traffic is slow near Padaro Lane as the number two lane is completely blocked.
Emergency responders are on the scene.

Lol, what?! So the box truck’s empty trailer rear ended the box truck so hard it got jammed up under the box truck? Bizarre!
So many fluids on the ground. They really had to soak that stuff up. Hope everyone was OK.
Does anyone know the name of the company on the box truck?
