Transform Into a Zombie at the Courthouse on Saturday

Join the annual zombie dance craze this Saturday at the Courthouse Sunken Gardens.

Since 2010, World Dance for Humanity has hosted the Santa Barbara Thriller event titled “Thrill the World” to raise money for charity.

For the past ten days these dedicated dancers have been performing “Thriller” flashmobs throughout the South Coast culminating in the epic showdown on Saturday, October 28.

At 1:00 p.m. cosmetologists from Santa Barbara City College will be applying Halloween zombie make-up. An hour later an epic dance party will begin for all to join.

The main event takes place at 3:00 p.m. with one hundred zombified dancers.

Dancing Zombies from Algeria, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Malaysia, and Mexico, and throughout the U.S. will perform Thriller at the same moment in time, casting away inhibitions to create a spooktacular community experience.

Funds raised through event sponsors and dancer donations go to the Rwanda Education Fund which is enabling 293 students to attend school, and to the United Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County that offer low-income children to take part in after-school activities.

World Dance offers low-cost classes six days a week and provides humanitarian aid year-round – volunteering locally, working with vulnerable communities in Rwanda, and bringing emergency aid to our partners in Ukraine.
