An injured hiker was rescued near Arlington Peak on Monday afternoon.

At 12:39 p.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighters and County Air Support Unit Helicopter 964 responded to front country near the peak.

Crews discovered a 45-year-old male suffering from a medical emergency.

The hiker was hoisted into the helicopter and airlifted the Santa Barbara Airport. A fire medic on board determined the hiker was suffering from mild dehydration.

The hiker refused additional transport to the hospital and signed an AMA (Against Medical Advise) form to be released on his own accord.
