Trader Joe’s Recalls Cookies That May Contain Rocks

By the edhat staff

Trader Joe’s has recalled two of its cookie products after discovering they might contain rocks, the grocery chain announced Friday.

The affected products are Trader Joe’s Almond Windmill Cookies with a sell-by date between October 19 and 21, and its Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies with sell-by dates from October 17 through 21.

Trader Joe’s stated the supplier of the two types of cookies alerted the grocery store that the products may contain rocks. All potentially affected cookies have since been removed from shelves and destroyed, according to the company’s announcement.

“If you purchased or received any donations of Almond Windmill Cookies and/or Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies, please do not eat them. We urge you to discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund,” the store stated.

Customers with questions may contact Trader Joe’s Customer Relations at (626) 599-3817 [Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Pacific Time] or send an email.

Earlier this year, Trader Joe’s also recalled a frozen fruit product because of possible hepatitis A contamination.
