Full Containment for 100 Acre Fire By New Cuyama

The Los Padres Forest Service confirms the Rinconada Fire is now 100% contained.

Within one day it reached 100 acres and crews will remain on the scene for the next few days mopping up.

Numerous agencies are on the scene of a growing brush fire next to Rinconada Ranch on the north side of Highway 166, halfway between New Cuyama and Santa Maria.

As of Friday evening, the fire was estimated to be 96 acres burning grass and brush whilemoving at a moderate rate of speed. 

The fire jumped 20 acres within a few hours on Friday. 

It’s unclear if there are any homes threatened. 

Los Padres Forest Fire personnel are taking suppression action with helo from Santa Barbara County Fire, the Bureau of Land Management, and SLO Cal Fire.

This is a developing story.
