Walking our kids to school this morning ( peabody ) at state/ de la vina split. there is a HORRIBLE fish/ sea life smell. which is NOT normal for the area. it is very strong and nauseating.
It wasnt apparent inside school grounds, but once outside it was very strong. It is VERY strong in the area of the chicken resturante and the verizon store.
I smelled the fishiness too on De La Vina, between Victoria and Anapamu….
I remember as a kid smelling the decaying blue whale and its boiling baleen at the SB Natural History Museum as they prepped the bones for the display. It wafted a long way from the museum! Maybe they found a new one?
10:24 – It was really cool! I remember seeing the baleen in big outdoor vats, or maybe it was the bones? I was pretty young, but will never forget the sight and smell that could be pretty pungent even blocks away!
Wow, I had no idea they prepared the bones on site, that is quite gross and cool! Thanks for sharing.
“Technically” that was the beginning of the second sentence…
Like I’m one to attempt a valid/cohesive one 🙂
