Lobster Traps Washed Up at Hendry’s Beach

By an edhat reader

I went on several walks along Hdendry’s Beach this long weeked and noticed a lot of lobster traps washed on shore.

There had to be at least a dozen of them scattered along the cliff base.

  1. If you think they are bad at Hendry’s, this past summer I spent 8 days kayaking around Santa Rosa Island, slept on 7 different beaches and EVERY beach I camped on was littered with California Commercial Lobster Traps… EVERY BEACH!!
Santa Rosa Island is part of our Channel Islands National Park and the California Commercial Lobster Fishery has no regard to clean up after themselves out there… NONE, in my 20 years here in town, I’ve never heard of the California Commercial Lobster Fishery cleaning the beaches of Santa Rosa Island. What a disgraceful group of lazy, greedy people!!
