Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to several fallen tree incidents in Goleta on Tuesday.
Crews responded to the area of Calle Real that intersects with San Jose Creek and discovered a 100 foot eucalyptus tree had fallen across the creek and partially into the roadway.
“With the ground already saturated and winds picking up, more will surely follow,” wrote Counyt Fire Information Officer Mike Eliason.
The City of Goleta reports the westbound lanes of Calle Real are temporarily closed from Patterson to Kellogg Avenues due to the fallen tree.
This section of Calle Real is expected to be closed for several hours while crews are at work.
