SBCC’s Board of Trustees Extends Superintendent/President Search

The Santa Barbara Community College District Board of Trustees has extended the Superintendent/President search process and has reopened applications for the position until April 16, 2023. 

The parameters of continuing this Superintendent/President search process include:

  • Maintaining the same screening committee.

  • Current finalists may remain in the search for consideration.

  • Additional candidates may apply by April 16.

  • Public forums for additional final candidates will be held prior to the end of the Spring 2023 term.

  1. I can understand the desire/importance to hire someone who will stay at the job and not use it as a stepping stone or is a short-timer to retirement– and SBCC has the perfect candidate/finalist already in Erika Endrijonas who was a dean at SBCC in the past and is currently president of Pasadena CC. Erika did a great job as a dean here, has friends in the community, is bright courageous, innovative, and likable. With her considerable history in Santa Barbara, I would not consider Erika an “outsider.” SBCC will lose an opportunity to hire an exceptional person/leader if let Erika slip through this process.
