I believe this photo was taken circa 1888 before the roof tiling which eliminated the dormers. Photographer’s name is WATKINS and the photo source was the UCLA Digital Library.
Readers are encouraged and thanked to add meaningful historical detail when known.
The Mission was looking somewhat sad in this possibly circa 1870s photo.

I think the building was called the “major duomo” & a residence for a caretaker.
