By the City of Santa Barbara
Since the Bicycle Share Pilot Program launched on January 28, 2021, BCycle users have taken over 260,000 trips and ridden over 900,000 miles on the pedal-assist electric bikes. The Bicycle Share Pilot Program provides an affordable, public, point-to-point transportation option that can reduce traffic congestion and parking demand and provide affordable access to key destinations when trips are too far to walk but too close to drive.
Have a location where you’d like to see a bike share station? Contact BCycle at SantaBarbara@BCycle.com to request a station near you.

Now, if they’d just lower the prices. I’d rather walk a mile than pay $7.50 to ride a mile.
But remember that City employees will profit from these high rates. How do think this program got pushed through so easily? The unfortunate result of this program is that citizens have again lost more of the use of their public right of ways, both sidewalks and streets. What will be given away next?
What?
What?
Unfortunately they’re replacing healthy walking rather than driving.
Depending on the program you choose, the individual useage is $7.00 for every 30 min., and fraction there after… i.e. if you go 31-60 min its $14.00… 61 min is $21.. and so on.
There needs to be signage that bikes, especially e-bikes, should not be on sidewalks.
