Highway 154 shut down on Saturday early evening following a collision between two motorcycles and a vehicle.
Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the 2300 block of Highway 154 near the Lake Cachuma entrance and discovered two motorcycles and one sedan vehicle had collided.
A male and a female motorcyclist were both in critical condition. One was transported by ground ambulance and the other by Calstar helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Two people in the sedan sustained minor injuries.
Highway 154 was shut down for a period of time. The cause of the collision is under investigation.

Those firefighters and first responders who aid in these horrific scenes of human carnage pay a price for their years of exposures… Hats off and kudos to the people who place themselves where the rubber meets the road on a daily basis. Look at the face of the firefighter in the picture- It tells it all.
The front-end of the on-coming car is destroyed by the impact of these motorcycles, both of which were probably passing in a no-passing double yellow zone. Who would have guessed that they would collide with an unseen oncoming car? Duh! The On-going Story of the Dangers of Driving on 154.
Holy crap, that looks awful. I hope they recover. Did both hit the car at the same time? I avoid the 154 like the plague for this reason.
They didn’t keep the rubber down and the shiny side up.
