A project to retrofit the bridges at the La Colina and Primavera Undercrossings on State Route 154 in Santa Barbara will continue with overnight closures tonight for deck overlay and pavement work.
The work has been delayed to due cold overnight temperatures and is subject to further delay depending on weather conditions.
Travelers can expect a full closure of State Route 154 from State Route 192 to Calle Real beginning Monday, April 24 through Thursday, April 27 during the overnight hours from 9 pm to 5 am for construction work on the bridge decks.
State Route 154 from State Route 192 to Calle Real will also be closed in both directions on Monday, May 1 through Thursday, May 4 from 9 pm to 5 am for roadway paving.
Electronic message boards and detour signs will be posted to advise the traveling public of the road closure.
The contractor for this $5 million project is C.A. Rasmussen Inc. of Valencia, CA. It is scheduled to be complete next month.
Let’s hope that the lanes Southbound on 154 are re-aligned or added to allow for more traffic to get on SB 101, at the intersection of 154/Calle Real. That traffic backup can often extend up 154 to the Bridge to Nowhere. Anybody else agree?
