Santa Barbara County firefighters rescued a man inside a burning home early Monday morning.
At 3:40 a.m. crews responded to the 500 block of Halkirk Street in a neighborhood close to Goleta for a reported house fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters sprung into action and rescued an adult male who was found unresponsive inside the home. Two adult females were able to exit the home by themselves without injuries.
Firefighters performed CPR on the man before he was transported by ground ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. He’s currently in critical condition.
The fire was contained to the room of origin, which is suspected to be the room the victim was rescued from, and was knocked down within thirty minutes.
Firefighters will remain on the scene to mop up.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Aww man, I knew there was a fire from the loud sirens in the middle of the night. Multiple fire trucks blaring sirens and the ambulance, I heard them on their way to the house and heard that ambulance as it headed to the hospital. I hope that the person survives.
