Freevee’s tv show Jury Duty is gaining steam by reach #9 on the top ten streaming chart by ReelGood.
I’ve finished the series so here is my brief synopsis: it’s a reality show where everyone is an actor expect one person, a juror who is completely unaware that his jury duty assignment is fake. From the producer of The Office, everything is carefully planned with actors using improv skills and directions in hidden ear pieces to keep the plot moving.
While it’s cringey at some moments, it’s a real-life “Truman Show” that has views hooked and rooting for a hero who doesn’t know he’s a hero.
It’s also the first AVOD original title to make ReelGood’s list this year. AVOD stands for Advertising-Based Video on Demand meaning the content is free as long as viewers watch the advertisements opposed to paying a monthly fee for the streaming service.
New on the Top 10 are Citadel, Peter Pan & Wendy, and Love & Death.
What I’m Watching: Jury Duty! I finished the series recently and it’s so fascinating to see everyone adjust to the real-life person. I commend all of the actors for being on duty 24/7 and never breaking.
