Flying A: Got Any Family Memories?

By Betsy J. Green

Does your family have a “Flying A” story that has been passed down through the years? Did your relatives ever tell stories about watching the movies being filmed here, or talk about being involved in a movie?

I am working on a book about the “Flying A,” and would love to include some personal stories. You can reach me on the contact page of my website: betsyjgreen.com.

  1. I’ve had a couple of very interesting responses. One person had a grandfather who had a job driving the “Flying A” actors and crews to locations, and sent me some pix. Another mentioned that when a family home was constructed in the 1930s in part of the “Flying A” block, a whole bunch of horseshoes were unearthed. As you probably know, a lot of the studio’s movies involved cowboys. What an interesting history we have in this city.
