A reader wants to know what the wildflower conditions up Figueroa Mountain Road are like.
Will it still be worthwhile to drive up and have a look?

We live on a ranch on Gaviota coast and we’ve never seen the mustard so bright but more than half has already lost its color.
We were up there last weekend and I will say the the poppies are no longer as prevalent but there is a lot of lupin and other wildflowers. Weekend traffic is being controlled by CHP
No.
Just got back this morning from all the way across and up to the lookout and there was nothing but one little patch the size of a tract home tucked back in the corner by the Davy Brown trail turnout.
Was up there yesterday. Can confirm what TAGDES said. Still a lot of lupine in spots. In the section below the front of the flat car parking area just below the lookout, found a lush batch of lupine being thoroughly enjoyed by ladybugs. Saw no CHP.
