The Gifford Fire is 100% contained as of 8:30 p.m. Friday, according to the Los Padres National Forest Service.

The Gifford Fire has reached 52 acres as of Friday evening.
The Los Padres National Forest reports minimal activity with heat inside the fire perimeter.
Crews from CalFire SLO, Santa Barbara County, Los Padres Forest, and Santa Maria will be on the scene overnight and through Saturday.

A large brush fire is growing off Highway 166 on the border of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
At 2:30 p.m., Santa Barbara County, Los Padres National Forest, and San Luis Obispo County fire crews responded to an area near Rockfront Ranch on the north side of Highway 166 in San Luis Obispo County.
Crews discovered an approximate five acre grass fire with a low-medium rate of spread.
Located on the SLO/Santa Barbara County line near Hwy 166, 2 miles E of Rock Front Ranch.
Named the Gifford Incident, the blaze has grown to over 40 acres as of 4:00 p.m. Friday.
Crews are expected to be on the scene throughout the night to control the spread.
This is a developing story.
Not a lot of smoke seen in the peak cameras over there, sounds like they’re making good progress.
